On April 24 and 25, 2026, the 15th Congress of the Mauritanian Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (SMAGO) was held in Nouakchott at the Sheraton Hotel, bringing together many healthcare professionals around the major current issues in gynecology and obstetrics. PPM Laboratories took part as a partner, confirming its commitment alongside stakeholders in maternal and reproductive health in Mauritania.
At the heart of these two scientific days, several major themes were addressed: obstetric pathologies and maternal mortality, breast cancer, infertility and endoscopy. These sessions helped update knowledge, share best practices and highlight persistent challenges, while presenting diagnostic and therapeutic advances in these key areas.
PPM’s participation focused on financial support for the organization of the congress, a continuous institutional presence throughout the two days, and numerous exchanges with the healthcare professionals in attendance – gynecologists, obstetricians and midwives. This involvement strengthened the visibility of the laboratory and consolidated its ties with players in the Mauritanian medical sector.
Among the key points highlighted at the end of the event were the strong mobilization of professionals, the scientific quality of the presentations and the high relevance of the themes in relation to the country’s public health priorities. The congress was also a privileged forum for identifying new opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
The outcome of this participation is considered very positive, both institutionally and relationally. PPM was able to assert its image as a stakeholder committed to public health, while opening up prospects for strengthened cooperation with Mauritanian gynecologists and identifying new avenues of action for medical promotion. The Group is pleased to have contributed to the success of this 15th SMAGO Congress and reaffirms its determination to support initiatives aimed at improving maternal and reproductive health in Mauritania.
